Shelbert is a friendly, mostly optomistic red steam engine, Shelbert is the light goods engine for Celgreb, taking about 2-6 wagons per train. He means well, but can often derail himself while trying to make up for (to him at least) lost time. He's known to be good friends with Percy and Scruff, but is often seen chatting with Georgia, who also experiences problems of her own.[]
